Q1. Here is the number series to solve, if:
91 + 55 = 13286
26 + 63 = 2314
53 + 45 = 5194
100 + 9 = ?
– what will be the number here?
Answer: 10900 i.e. 100 * (100 + 9)
91 * (91 + 55) = 13286, 26 * (26 + 63) = 2314, 53 * (53 + 45) = 5194
Logic: The logic is addition of both number multiplied by first number i.e.(91 + 55)*91=13286.
Q2. Second question in the series is:
78 + 78 = 0
90 + 24 = 5940
94 + 81 = 1222
35 + 55 = ?
– what will be the number here?
Answer: -700 i.e. 35*(35-55)
78 * (78 – 78) = 0, 90 * (90 – 24) = 5940, 94 * (94 – 81) = 1222.
Logic: The logic is subtraction of both number multiplied by first number i.e.(78 – 78)*78=0.
Q3. Third question in the series is:
69 + 20 = 158
55 + 21 = 131
0 + 10 = 10
72 + 41 = ?
– what will be the number here?
Answer: 185 i.e. 72 * 2 + 41
69 * 2 + 20 = 158, 55 * 2 + 21 = 131, 0 * 2 + 10 = 10.
Logic: The logic is 2 multiplied by first number plus second number i.e.(69*2 + 20)=158.
Q4. What is the next number in the series:
60, 30.0 , 15.0, 7.5, ?
Answer: 3.75 i.e. 7.5/2.
Logic: Second number is half of first one, 3rd number is half of second one and so on i.e. 60/2 = 30.0, 30.0/2 = 15.0, 15.0/2 = 7.5 and so on.
Q5. Guess next number in the series:
42, 21.0, ??, 5.25, 2.625
Answer: 10.5 i.e. 21.0/2.
Logic: Second number is half of first one, 3rd number is half of second one and so on i.e.42/2 = 21.0, 21.0/2 = 10.5, 10.5/2 = 5.25 and so on.
Q6. Guess next number in the series:
4, 16 , 64 , 256 , ?
Answer: 1024 i.e. 4^5
Logic: The series is square, cube, ^4 and so on i.e. 44 = 16 , 44*4 = 64 etc.
Q7. Guess next number in the series:
9, 81, ??, 6561, 59049
Answer: 729 i.e. 9^3
Logic: The series is square, cube, ^4 and so on i.e. 9*9 = 81, 9*9*9 = 729 etc.
Q8. Guess next number in the series:
9, 10, 12, 15, ?
Ans. 19 i.e. 15 + 4
Second number is (1st number + 1), third number is (2nd number + 2), 4th is (3rd number + 3) and so on.
i.e. 9 + 1 = 10, 10 + 2 = 12, 12 + 3 = 15 and so on.
Q9. What will be the next number in the series:
0, 2, 6, 12, ?
Ans. 20 i.e. 12 + 8
Logic: Second number is (1st number + 2), third number is (2nd number + 4), 4th is (3rd number + 6) and so on.
0 + 2 = 2, 2 + 4 = 6, 6 + 6 = 12 and so on.
Q10. Find the missing number in the series:
14, 16, ??, 26, 34
Ans. 20 i.e.16 + 4
14+2=16 , 16+4=20 , 20+6=26 , 26+8=34.
Logic: Second number is (1st number + 2), third number is (2nd number + 4), 4th is (3rd number + 6) and so on.
Q11. Identify the missing number in the series:
14, 17, ??, 23, 26, 29
Ans. 20 i.e.17 + 3
14+3=17 , 17+3=20 , 20+3=23 , 23+3=26.
Logic: Second number is (1st number + 3), third number is (2nd number + 3), 4th is (3rd number + 3) and so on.i.e. every other number is previous number plus 3.
Q12. Identify the missing number in the series:
20, 23, ??, 32, 38, 45
Ans. 27 i.e. 23 + 4
20+3=23 , 23+4=27 , 27+5=32 , 32+6=38 , 38+7=45.
Logic: First number + 3 = 2nd number, second number + 4 = 3rd number, third number + 5 = 4th number and so on.
Q13. Find the missing number in the series:
6, 6, ??, 36, 144, 720
Ans. 12 i.e. 6*2 = 12
6*1 = 6, 6*2 = 12, 12*3 = 36, 36*4 = 144, 144*5 = 720.
Logic: First number*1 = 2nd number, second number*2 = 3rd number, third number*3 = 4th number and so on.
Q14. Find the missing number in the series:
18, 37, 55, ??, 91, 109
Ans. 73 i.e.(18*4 + 1) = 73,
18*2 + 1 = 37 , 18*3 + 1 = 55, 18*4 + 1 = 73, 18*5 + 1 = 91, 18*6 + 1 = 109,
Logic: 1st number *2 + 1 = second, 1st number * 3 + 1 = third and so on.
Q15. Find the missing number in the series:
4, 10, 15, ??, 25, 30
Ans. 20 i.e. (4*4 + 4) = 20
4*2 + 2 = 10, 4*3 + 3 = 15, 4*4 + 4 = 20, 4*5 + 5 = 25, 4*6 + 6 = 30,
Logic: 1st number *2 + 2 = second, 1st number * 3 + 3 = third, 1st number * 4 + 4 = fourth and so on.
Q16. A car crosses a 1180 m long road in 6 minutes. What will be it’s speed in km per hour?
A. 3.9
B. 5.9
C. 7.1
D. 11.8
Answer: 11.8 km/h i.e. [(1180/1000) / (6/60)]
Logic: Converting 1180 to kilometer by dividing it by 1000 and converting 6 to hour by dividing it by 60 and dividing both.
Q17, Next number in the series is:
44, 47, 45, 48, 46, ??
Ans: 49 i.e. 46 + 3 = 49
44, 44 + 3 = 47, 47 – 2 =45 and so on i.e. +3 and then -2 in alternate numbers.
Logic: This is a simple alternating addition and subtraction series. In the first pattern, 3 is added; in the second, 2 is subtracted and so on.
