Even movies were produced because of this like Dangal, which shows the story of struggle of Geeta Kumari Phogat, who represent India in various international games and brought medals for India. It is also a good way of keeping oneself fit as kushti or wrestling includes many exercise to increase strength and stamina of a person.

Wrestling also called as malla yuddha is a sport of ancient times in India. In modern world it has been governed by United World Wrestling abbreviated as UWW that oversees wrestling at world championships and olympics.
UWW was initially called as FILA and changed to UWW in Sep-2014. It is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Styles:
As per UWW the major amateur competitive wrestling types are freestyle wrestling, greco-roman wrestling, grappling wrestling, beach wrestling, pankration athlima, alysh/belt wrestling and traditional/folk wrestling.
Out of the above mentioned styles freestyle and greco-roman are two styles included in Olympics. The main difference between the two styles is that in greco-roman style a wrestler can neither use own legs nor can attack the legs of his/her opponent whereas in freestyle both the arms and legs can be used.

In wrestling a player can win the match by fall, technical superiority, by decision, by default, because of injury to opponent or if the opponent is disqualified.
